Skill-Forge ("we", "our", or "the Platform") provides interactive developer learning paths, code runners, system design diagrams, algorithm visualizers, and project roadmaps. This Privacy Policy governs all data collected when you visit skillforge.dev or use our applications.

We collect data to personalize your learning experience, save code progress, and deliver secure code compilation:
Account & Profile Information
Name, email address, password hash, avatar, target tech stack preferences, and linked authentication provider IDs (e.g. GitHub or Google OAuth).
Learning & Activity Progress
Completed notes, quiz scores, problem attempt histories, project roadmap milestones, bookmarked cheatsheets, and streak data.
Code Editor Inputs
Source code snippets, algorithm solutions, custom test cases, and configuration files created inside interactive code execution blocks.
Technical & Diagnostic Metrics
IP address, browser user-agent, operating system, execution runtime latency, error logs, and session duration.
3. Code & Compiler Telemetry Privacy
When you execute code inside Skill-Forge playground editors or problem runners, your source code is sent to ephemeral containerized execution environments.
- Zero Data Mining: Your code is executed purely to deliver stdout, stderr, execution time, and memory usage metrics. We do not mine or train AI models on user-submitted private solutions.
- Ephemeral Isolation: Execution sandbox containers are destroyed immediately after code completion. Temporary artifacts are purged automatically.
- Private Project Files: Custom project templates saved locally or synced to your profile remain strictly accessible only by your authenticated user session.
4. How We Use Your Data
We process your data strictly for legitimate operational and educational purposes:
- To maintain your account, save progress across devices, and issue completion certificates.
- To execute and debug code runs inside browser and cloud runners.
- To diagnose platform latency, prevent distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, and enforce compiler rate limits.
- To communicate important security notices, system updates, and legal modifications.
7. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)
Regardless of your geographic location, Skill-Forge provides global privacy rights:
Right to Access & Export
Request a complete JSON/CSV archive of all personal data, saved notes, and activity history.
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")
Permanently delete your account and remove all personal information from our databases.
Right to Rectification
Update incorrect email addresses, profile details, or saved preferences.
Right to Object / Opt-Out
Opt out of diagnostic analytics or marketing announcements at any time.
8. Data Retention & Security
Account profile and progress data are stored securely for as long as your account remains active. If an account is inactive for more than 24 months, or upon receiving a deletion request, all personal records are purged within 30 days. All database connections enforce TLS 1.3 encryption.
9. Children's Privacy
Skill-Forge is designed for developers, students, and technology professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 years of age. If you believe a minor has created an account, please notify us immediately for prompt deletion.
10. Policy Updates & Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be announced via platform banners or email notifications.
